Movement & Music

Movement, dance, and music find their way into the classroom as a means of teaching students new ways to express themselves and connect with each other in a joyful manner. Often integrated through the literacy curriculum, students develop the ability to use movement and dance to tell stories and explore their physical and emotional reactions to text. Students are also introduced to a range of traditional songs, playful songs, and songs that enrich our curricular studies as a means to deepen learning, encourage listening skills, respond to events in the world around us, and engage students in a universal experience that connects them to the broader global community.
