here & Now: A Community Study

Designed to build community-mindedness and an awareness of the inter-connected nature of human relationships, this fully integrated curriculum explores the process of investigation, involves community partnerships, engages students in the world around them, and will culminate in the construction of a model community that will showcase an understanding of how and why people join together to support each other.

PuppetS, PoetS & Stories

Playful, joyful literacy explorations! Students will develop their storytelling, illustration, and writing skills (if developmentally appropriate) by making a playing with different kinds of puppets.

BLOCKS! Blocks! Blocks!

Mathematics, social skills, engineering, communication, language, dramatic play, physics, and fun! Unit blocks are among the most researched and most revered play-based classroom material and have been proven to support social-emotional, physical and cognitive development. These versatile learning tools are as magical as they are fun!

ACT LOCALLY! ActivisM, Community, Compassion & Kindness

This program is designed to support students in their efforts engage in the world around them and deepen their understanding of how, and their ability to, positively impact the community in which they live. Each month, this program will support a different nonprofit organization in our community and will offer students an opportunity to build investigatory skills and grow as active participants in local social action projects.

TRADITIONAL ARTS

In a fast-paced, technology-fueled world, traditional skills, arts, and crafts grow evermore precious. Through this ongoing workshop, students will be introduced to a variety of traditional arts and crafts skills such as woodworking, weaving, felting, sewing, print-making, candle-making, and more! Each session will build upon the last and leave students with lasting skills that help them represent their understanding of, relationship with, and connection to, the world and our history.

The WOODWRIGHT’s SHOP

The positive impacts of working with wood are boundless. This program introduces students to basic woodworking skills and empowers them to represent their ideas in a new and dynamic format. Students will learn the techniques necessary to bring their own designs and ideas to life!

A place-based, artistic journey through the natural world as it is presented by the open spaces, farms, and trails in and around our community.

BOOK CLUB!

Wind down the week with book club! By exploring one chapter book at a time, students will enjoy the camaraderie of a shared literacy experience and work together to present their interpretation of the book through dramatic arts. Students will build their own costumes and sets and will produce a short play.
